Agreement signed
between Trade and Industry Chamber of Kyrgyzstan
and Council of Chambers of Saudi Arabia
KABAR, May 22. Agreement on cooperation is signed
between Trade and Industry Chamber of the Kyrgyz
Republic and Council of Chambers of Saudi Arabia
within the framework of business-forum
“Kyrgyzstan-Saudi Arabia”: new possibilities
of cooperation” held in Bishkek on May 21.
The sides agreed to develop contacts between
companies, enterprises, organizations and
businessmen with the purpose of strengthening and
enhancing trade and economic relations. For that
the sides will organize seminars, conferences,
symposiums, meetings. Besides, the sides will
hold consultations on forming Business Council
“Kyrgyzstan – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”.
The agreement is signed by president of Trade and
Industry Chamber of Kyrgyzstan Djumasarlyk
Nurjanov and deputy chairman of Council of
Cambers of Saudi Arabia Abdulrahman Ali
Al-Jeraisy.
Around 120 entrepreneurs attend
Kyrgyzstan-Saudi Arabia Forum
AKIpress News Agency, May 20, 2009. The business
forum "Kyrgyzstan-Saudi Arabia: New
Opportunities of Cooperation" was held in
Bishkek, where representatives of the two
countries presented their investment
opportunities and priority areas in development
of economic relations. Thirty-six representatives
of the delegation of Saudi Arabia presented their
reports concerning investment climate, legal
aspects of doing business in Kyrgyzstan, the
press service of the Ministry of Economic
Development and Trade said. Around 120 Kyrgyz
businessmen interested in establishment of
business ties with businessmen of Saudi Arabia
took part in the forum, the press service said.
Ambassador J.Sharipov met with
speaker of the Saudi Consultative Assembly
KABAR, May 13. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Jusupbek
Sharipov met with speaker of the Saudi
Consultative Assembly (Majlis Ash-Shura) Abdullah
bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan
in Saudi Arabia reported.
The Kyrgyz ambassador told about key tasks of the
embassy on development of Kyrgyz-Saudi relations,
particularly strengthening political base,
exchanging visits at the high level and resuming
inter-parliamentary cooperation.
In his turn, the speaker of the Saudi
Consultative Assembly has confirmed his interest
and aspiration in expanding cooperation with the
Kyrgyz Republic, including relations between
parliaments of the two states.

J.Sharipov handed over
credentials to Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah
Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah
KABAR,
April 22, 2009. Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to the
Kingdom Saudi Arabia and Arab Republic of Egypt
Jusupbek Sharipov handed over credentials to Emir
of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad
Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. On this occasion a solemn
accreditation ceremony took place in Al-Kuwait.
The Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported it.
This is the first accreditation of the Kyrgyz
Ambassador to Kuwait in the history of the
Kyrgyz-Kuwaiti bilateral relations. The Kuwaiti
side welcomed efforts of the Kyrgyz Republic on
strengthening political cooperation with Kuwait
and expressed satisfaction on development of the
Kyrgyz-Kuwaiti bilateral relations.
Within the framework of his visit to Al Kuwait,
J.Sharipov met with heads of the Foreign Affairs
Ministry and other state and public
organizations.
Kuwait fund to help in
reconstructing highways in Kyrgyzstan
KABAR, April 21,
2009. The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Arab Republic of
Egypt Jusupbek Sharipov met with Deputy Director
General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic
Development Hisham Al-Waqayan in Kuwait. The
Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported it.
The parties
discussed perspectives of further cooperation
between Kyrgyzstan and the Kuwait Fund, which
started in 1996. Hisham Al-Waqayan informed about
an agreement in principle to finance new projects
in Kyrgyzstan on reconstructing highways.

J.Sharipov expressed hope for fruitful
participation of the Kuwait Fund in upcoming a
roundtable in Bishkek.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait
KABAR, April 20,
2009. The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Arab Republic of
Egypt J.Sharipov handed over copies of his
credentials to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of
Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Muhammad
Sabah Al Salim Al-Sabah.
During the talks,
the parties confirmed interests and aspiration
for expanding bilateral relations and
strengthening visits at various levels. The
parties also exchanged opinions on numerous
actual issues, representing mutual interests.

Kyrgyz parliament adopted bills on the Islamic
banking
KABAR, February 13, 2009.
Kyrgyzstan’s parliament adopted bills on the
Islamic banking, the Jogorku Kenesh’s press
service reported.National Bank chairman Marat
Alapayev introduced three bills in the
parliament’s meeting. The bills call for
increase in the authorized capital stock up to 1
billion soms. The capital will be formed via the
National Bank profit.

Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia
discussed issues of cooperation in the field of
higher education
KABAR, January 10. Adviser for
international affairs of the Ministry of Higher
Education of Saudi Arabia Isa Abdullah Al-Isa
visited Bishkek on January 7-8, 2009 together
with the official governmental delegation of
Saudi Arabia.
The visit’s official part took place on January
8. Isa Abdullah Al-Isa was received by
stats-secretary of the Ministry of Education and
Science of Kyrgyzstan A.B.Abdrashev.
The parties discussed issues of cooperation in
the field of higher education.
Isa Abdullah Al-Isa also visited the Kyrgyz
National University named after J.Balasagyn, the
Kyrgyz State University of Construction,
Transport and Architecture (KGUSTA), the Eastern
University named after Mahmud Kashgari-Barskani.
Issues of setting up the Arabian Center at the
J.Balasagyn University, material-technical
equipment of the Kyrgyz-Arabian Faculty at
KGUSTA, implementation of joint
scientific-research project with the Eastern
University named after Mahmud Kashgari-Barskani,
organizing probation period of teachers from
Kyrgyzstan in Saudi Arabia and exchanging
students were discussed during meetings with
leadership of above-mentioned universities.

Kyrgyzstan’s agriculture ministry and
representatives of Saudi Arabia discussed issues
of cooperation
KABAR, January 10.
A meeting with representatives of the Saudi
Arabian agriculture ministry took place in the
ministry of agriculture, water resources and
processing industry of Kyrgyzstan. Issues of
cooperation on cattle breeding, veterinary,
export and import of cattle-breeding products
were discussed at the meeting. Besides, it is
planning to achieve concrete agreements on
development of cooperation. The delegation will
visit numerous farms on livestock breeding, dairy
produce, poultry farming.
A meeting with
representatives of the Saudi Arabian ministries
took place in the foreign ministry
KABAR, January 10.
The Kyrgyz foreign ministry’s leadership had a
meeting in Bishkek with representatives of the
Saudi Arabian oil and mineral resources ministry,
agriculture and healthcare ministry. The foreign
ministry’s press service reported it. The
delegation arrived in Bishkek to conduct meetings
with ministries and departments of the republic
to establish and expand interdepartmental
cooperation. During the meetings, the Kyrgyz side
pointed out the interest of Kyrgyzstan in
activating Kyrgyz-Saudi cooperation. The results
of Kyrgyz-Saudi cooperation in 2008 were
discussed. It was also determined the main
directions of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and
Saudi Arabia for the nearest years. The parties
agreed to activate bilateral relations,
particularly organize high-level visits, create
Kyrgyz-Saudi Business Council, expand legal base
and etc.
Kyrgyzstan and Saudi
Arabia to develop cooperation
KABAR, January 9.
Minister of industry, energy and fuel resources
of Kyrgyzstan Ilyaz Davydov yesterday met with
representatives of the ministry of oil and
mineral resources of Saudi Arabia. The main goal
of the negotiations became establishment of
bilateral cooperation. The parties exchanged work
experiences in the field of oil, gas and mineral
resources. Representatives of Saudi Arabia told
about the deficit of pure water in their native
land, particularly about works of plants on
processing sea-water. Besides, they told the
shortage of pure water would be one of the key
problems of the future. The guests offered to
render assistance in the field of oil, gas and
mineral resources. On this occasion, it was
decided to set up a joint working group in order
to determine the exact fields of cooperation. The
working group will be set up after the King of
Saudi Arabia will familiarize with results of the
delegation’s visit to Kyrgyzstan.
